Julians Boat
I was driving in Amsterdam Noord when I remembered a mail I received from Julian Bell, he is renovating his boat somewhere on a shipyard. I kept checking the waterfront and after a few minutes I noticed its bow sticking up, couldn’t miss it. I wonder if he is going to sail this summer.
I did a few jobs on the inside before the winter closed in but I didn't think the photo's were worth uploading.
I've restored and cleaned the mainsail, had reef points put in and slugs on the foot. I had to find extra thin sail slugs to fit in the boom, which was made to take the bolt rope so the groove is made only to take the sail.
I'll post some pictures later to show what I mean.
I took the sail number off the mainsail, it was 666 and I didn't like that number, I am a graficus and it just didn't balance for me.
Apparantly the sail number was originally 665 and then changed to 666.
Getting the numbers off was a difficult job, the numbers were sewn and glued on. It tooks me two full days to get them of cleanly.
The remaining sails should be easy, I soak them in hand-wash Biotex for 3-4 days. Works wonders, with dirty ropes too.
I am now working on restoring the rudder.
I am certainly planning on being on the water this summer. A bit more filler on the bottom, a bit more fiddling with the keel, set her in the epoxy and a good paint job. Fit everything back on and she's ready :-)

Ik heb deze boot afgelopen zomer ook gekocht. Het lijkt me leuk eens te praten :) Ben bezig met het opknappen en sta nog voor een aantal open vragen :)

Ik adviseer je om je ook op de ownerslist te laten zetten, overigens staan in die lijst ook links naar andere eigenaren. Onder andere naar de Holderness familie die hele mooie foto's op hun site hebben staan. Waar ligt je boot eigenlijk?
